Our cycling tour focuses on Thanlyin, a major port city of Myanmar,located 45 minutes drive away from the city of Yangon. Thanlyin was established since ancient Mon and Myanmar kingdoms.
From 14th century, it had been a trading capital of Portugese, France and British. On the way to Thanlyin, you have to cross one of the longest bridges in Myanmar, the Thanlyin Bridge.
Join us on this half-day cycling tour if you are attracted by scenic roads, physical exercise and interested in discovering daily village lives of locals.

Our Guide will pick you up at 7:00 a.m from hotel and transfer by car to Thanlyin until you reach the place where bicycles will be made ready. Start cycling and visit the following points of interest:
Visit to bustling Central Market in down-town Thanlyin to observe the local way of life and see an array of fresh fruits and vegetables. Observe the ancient architecture of an over hundred year old Municipal building.
Pedal along a track winding up the hill to Portuguese Church, believed to be what’s left of one of the oldest catholic churches in Myanmar. It was built during Portuguese rule under Philip De Brito in 16th/17th century Thanlyin.
Then, follow a cycling trail past the paddy fields to reach ” Nga Pa ” village.
Discover the daily life of farmers living in countryside and interact with them.
Stop at a local family house and savor the Myanmar traditional snacks with a pot of Myanmar plain tea and rest for a while.
Trace back to Thanlyin & visit a Rattan-ware workshop to watch how various handicrafts are made and processed. Go around the town to see the beautiful architecture of colonial era buildings including over 100 years old St. Francis Savior Catholic Church inside which a prayer place made of laterite rock can be observed.
Finally, return to ‘starting point’ and you will be served with Myanmar traditional meal at a local restaurant.
Transfer back to Yangon by car to your hotel.

Terms & Conditions:
Bookings for Cycling tours should be made minimum 3 days ahead of actual Cycling day.
Once you have made a booking for cycling tour with Vista Myanmar Travels & Tours and your booking is confirmed, you will be required to make a deposit payment, 50% of total amount to us within 5 days of making your booking. Failure to pay deposit may result in withdrawal of confirmation.
Full payment for the tour is due 7 days before the tour starts. Booking made less than 2 weeks before the tour start date will require full payment.
Payment can be made by cash or by bank transfe, and all the charges which are incurred by the banks must be borne by the payer.
Vista Myanmar Travels & Tours must be notified in writing or by email in case of clients’ cancelling a booking. Cancellation fees are worked out on the day of the written notice is received.
Following cancellation fees apply for cycling tours:
- More than 7 days before departure, full refund of deposit.
- 3 to 6 days before departure, loss of 50% of deposit.
- From 48 hours before the tour starts, loss of all payments made.
- Turning up late to the starting point of the tour for whatever reason is considered a late cancellation and will result in a loss of all payments made.
- No refund will be made should you voluntarily leave a tour early for any reason including not being of
adequate ability to ride a bicycle at a sufficient level to do the tour.
It is a condition of participating in a cycling tour that each traveller holds travel insurance for the duration of the tour. Insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, emergency evacuation repatriation and personal liability.
Cycling with us is generally safe but clients who join our tours understand that they are willing to join the tour by themselves and at their own risk. Vista Myanmar Travels & Tours and their guides, leaders, and support staff do not accept responsibility for any loss, injury, illness, damage, accident, fatality, delay or inconvenience experienced from time of departure to time of return arising out of any cycling tour organized by Vista Myanmar Travels and Tours.Clients must be healthy and fit enough to participate in cycling tours and must be able to ride the bicycles adequately. They must strictly adhere to the safety instructions and must not refuse to wear helmets provided by Vista Myanmar Travels.Clients must also advise their height at time of booking so as suitable sized bicycles will be organized in advance.
